Yesterday, 23 June, on the occasion of the ceremony that anticipates the inauguration of the largest post-pandemic universal exhibition, more than 250 laser projectors illuminated the dome of Al Wasl.

The theme of Expo Dubai 2020 "Connecting Minds, Creating the Future”(Connecting minds, creating the future) reflects the history of Dubai, historically called Al Wasl, or“ the connection ”. Al Wasl symbolizes the importance of the city as a gateway between east and west, north and south and the spirit of collaboration. Al Wasl Plaza is located in the heart of the site of Expo 2020 and is the meeting place for millions of people from all over the world and connects the three thematic districts: opportunity, mobility and sustainability.
With its 130 meters in diameter and more than 67 meters high, the iconic domed trellis that surrounds Al Wasl Plaza offers a series of panoramic projections that will enliven the nights of the Expo. During the day, this immense structure - whose design is inspired by the Expo 2020 logo - will offer visitors comfort and a unique landscape environment.

During the six months of Expo 2020, Al Wasl Plaza will host flagship shows and events such as New Year's Eve, opening and closing ceremonies and UAE National Day.
The celebrations continued throughout the evening with the lighting of the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world.
Expo 2020 Dubai
Expo 2020 Dubai is the first post-pandemic world exhibition to be held in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia (MEASA) region from 1 October 2021 to 31 March 2022. It is also the biggest event never organized in the Arab world and will welcome over 190 participating countries and millions of visitors from all over the world. For the first time in the history of the Universal Exposition, each participating country will have its own pavilion. Italy will be present with the Italy Pavilion, the architecture designed by Carlo Ratti, Italo Rota, Matteo Gatto and F&M Ingegneria. The pavilion was designed to stage with creativity and innovation "the beauty that unites people " and will be placed between the thematic areas "Opportunity" and "Sustainability" of the Expo 2020 Dubai site.
Italy will bring a major project of innovation, sustainability and scientific diplomacy to the universal exhibition next October.
Italy will be protagonist of the medicine of the future and life sciences, a project strengthened thanks to the partnership agreement between the Commissariato Generale for Italy at Expo 2020 Dubai and the Bracco Group, a world leader in diagnostic imaging, medical devices and advanced contrast media delivery systems.
Bracco, Official Gold Sponsor of the Italy Pavilion, will present in Dubai the Italian model of research and innovation in the life sciences sector, presenting cutting-edge solutions in the field of health, safety and prevention, starting from the application of artificial intelligence to diagnostic imaging.

On February 2, the Bracco Group took part in a global digital initiative promoted by Expo 2020 Dubai and dedicated to the topics of health and wellness, to launch "Health and Wellness week".
Another important Bracco appointment in the approach to Expo 2020 Dubai was the webinar on March 15, 2021 "#BeyondLifeScience - Research & Innovation in the era of precision medicine“.
