Free vaccine for the international delegations of Expo 2020 Dubai

The Expo 2020 Dubai Steering Committee has invited over 190 participating countries to join the Expo 2020 Dubai vaccination campaign free of charge for all official attendees and their staff.

During the latest meeting, held last Thursday, the Steering Committee expressed its appreciation for the decision of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and President of the Executive Council of Dubai, to offer the Covid-19 vaccine free of charge. to all staff and international delegations that will participate in the universal exhibition next October 1st. The Committee urged all official participants to take measures to ensure the safety of their staff and visitors. The decision had been announced by the sheikh in the previous Dubai Executive Council meeting which took place at the Expo 2020 headquarters.

Dmitri S Kerkentzes, Secretary General, Bureau International des Expositions, said: “The COVID-19 crisis has shown that global challenges require an extraordinary joint effort. With the UAE consistently demonstrating their commitment to health and global solidarity, we are confident that, through close collaboration and determined cooperation, Expo 2020 Dubai will be an inspiring and enlightening event that will deliver safe and meaningful experiences to every visitor. ". And he added, “The safe and successful organization of this week's International Participants Meeting and the offering of vaccines to all staff and international participants reinforce this strong commitment by the country that will host the first world Expo in the MEASA region. ".

Compliance with the standards and safety protocols of the Expo site was tested with the preview of the opening to the public of the Earth Pavilion - The Sustainability Pavilion - which saw a turnout of over 100,000 visitors. the Expo Pavilions Premiere received the Dubai Assured stamp from the Dubai government. 

The first universal exhibition of the Middle East, Africa and South Asia region (MEANSA) will take place from 1 October 2021 to 31 March 2022 to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the founding of the United Arab Emirates.
